Nursing Roots
When I left my nursing position in 2017, I left a piece of my identity behind. My coworkers were perplexed by my intention to leave the hospital and volunteer abroad... on farms! But just as the role of a nurse is broader than passing meds and cleaning bottoms, I learned working with the land goes beyond what is traditionally associated with farming. Being a nurse to the land is what regenerative agriculture is all about: holistic care for an ecosystem’s many parts.
